Now Offering Slatmill Sessions

Ideal Canine and Renegade K9 have joined forces and are now offering Slatmill sessions.

What is a slatmill❓️

➡️A slatmill is a treadmill designed specifically for dogs. It does not have a motor, so it is powered entirely by the dog's movement. This means that they choose their pace; Your dog can go as quickly or as slowly as they want. They can even start and stop all on their own.

➡️Slatmills are a safe and effective exercise alternative for our furry friends. Whether your dog is super high energy, overweight and needing to shed some pounds, or you're struggling to find time to exercise your dog, a slatmill can provide rigorous exercise in a safe way.

So, how does this service work❓️

First, you'll book a 30 minute consultation (at a cost of $45). During the consultation, we'll go over how to use the slatmill, the harness hook-up, proper placement of your dog on the mill etc. Then, you'll get to put your dog on and get them used to using the mill.

Some dogs take to the slatmill immediately while others require a few sessions before they really get the hang of it.

Subsequent sessions can be booked at a cost of:

$15 per session (approximately 20 minutes including loading and unloading your dog from the mill).

All sessions take place at Ideal Canine/Renegade K9 headquarters in Mission. Staff will be on site to assist you if you need help loading/unloading or encouraging your dog while they're on the mill.
