Engagement is a 2-way street

We cannot expect our dog's undivided attention, or their engagement if we aren't offering them our engagement in return.

đźš« Dragging you around the neighbourhood on walks

đźš« Ignoring your verbal cues

đźš« Not coming when called

đźš« Choosing to play by themselves or with another dog over playing with you

These are all signs that engagement is suffering in your life with your dog.

Look inward for a moment and ask yourself, are you giving your dog the engagement they need to make them want to engage with you?

❓️ Do you spend your walks scrolling through social media on your phone instead of using it as an opportunity to spend time with your dog?

❓️ Do you tell your dog to go away when they try to initiate play?

❓️ Did you get a second dog so that they could entertain each other and leave you alone?

❓️ Do you feel annoyed, frustrated or defeated by your dog's behaviour the majority of the time?

❓️ What is the quality of the time you spend with your dog?
