⁉️DID YOU KNOW⁉️

Both you and your dog come with your own set of L.E.G.S.❓️

You might be thinking, "Kristi, what the heck are you talking about?"

L stands for learning. Learning includes experiences, training, socialization and trauma.

E stands for environment. This includes past and present living conditions as well as the external conditions that the dog was originally developed for.

G stands for genetics. Genetics includes the kinds of behaviours your dog was selected for as well as their behavioural needs.

S stands for self. Self includes what your dog (and you) are experiencing as individuals as well as unique preferences and any internal conditions that could be affecting behaviour (age, sex, injury etc…).

Your L.E.G.S. are very similar!

Learning - The kinds of learning you have had (life experiences, trauma, childhood learning). How has your view of the world been shaped?

Environment - What kind of environment are you living in? What kind of environment did you grow up in?

Genetics - What kinds of genetics do you have? What is your natural design?

Self - What kinds of self are you experiencing? What are your unique preferences? What kinds of internal conditions are affecting you? Age? Sex? Illness? Disability? Nutrition?

Sometimes these things collide. Our L.E.G.S. become at odds with the L.E.G.S. of our dogs.

My job, as your Family Dog Mediator, is to bridge that gap and find solutions that respect and honour both sides of the equation; the family and the dog.

My job is to genuinely meet both the dog and the people where they are and with the L.E.G.S. that they have.

If you're struggling to understand your dog, how to meet their needs, or how to live with them, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
